Maillefer will be exhibiting at wire China 2010

The dates are September 21 to 24, 2010 and the stand number is W1 F63. The busy preparations for the upcoming Wire China show in Shanghai are underway. Maillefer is eager to share its new developments and improvements with its partners and friends at what appears to be a promising show.

Maillefer will present its portfolio of extrusion systems for energy cable, fiber optic cable, telecom cable and tube manufacturing systems. Expect to see a series of continued improvements for the production of medium, high and extra-high voltage cables. New technology and innovations are pushing the kV envelope in the 500 figures, with higher speed capabilities and improved quality control.

When fiber optic cables made their debut in the late 1970s, Maillefer was present with equipment for the leading players at the time. Today, Maillefer provides high-end manufacturing solutions for every stage of the fiber optic cable process. Tight buffering, secondary coating, SZ stranding and jacketing lines are available for producing FTTx cable with low fiber counts and short lengths. Technology like the compression caterpillar with tension feedback serves to keep accurate control of excess fiber length.

Coax and LAN cable manufacturing continues to evolve towards higher frequencies and smaller packages. The microcoax TEL 00 line is designed to produce insulated wires as thin as a human hair. The small extrusion line produces both solid and foam-skin as well as PE and FEP insulated wires.

Improved cooling is a key feature of the latest MXC extruders. The processing window is ever larger, thanks to third generation axial air cooling. The cooling capacity has grown by over 50% in order to process materials like EDPM and EPR, areas otherwise covered by liquid cooled machines. The new MXC developments are available on several of the company’s principal machines.

The Tube visitors will be able to get a close look at the new Maillefer forming & welding bench used in manufacturing PEX-AL-PEX composite pipe. There are several features worth citing, like easier forming tool setups, elimination of wear and dust from TIG grounding, improved weld surveillance, plus more.
